2007 GFA Festival and Competition
I was recently chosen to be the Convention Director for the 2007 Guitar Foundation of America Festival and Competition , which will be held at Cal State Dominguez in Los Angeles where I am the Coordinator of Guitar Studies. New Recording Project
On the recording front, I will enter the studio in June to record a CD of Christmas music with English horn/oboe extraordinaire, Richard Kravchak. Répertoire will include music by Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, and other holiday favorites. Look for it to be out this fall on Eroica Classical Recordings!
New Composition Premièred in Los Angeles
Finally, I premiered a few movements from a new composition in Los Angeles this past April. The piece is entitled Characters and consists of several movements, each dedicated to a different musician who has helped me develop my musical identity over the years. The April concert included Uncle B (for Benjamin Verdery) and Oh Niccolò (for Eliot Fisk) . Other movements are dedicated to the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ), Jack Sanders and Sharon Isbin.
